Time Crisis, Lawrence Tombs moves to JND Racing for 2018

With the RHPK season ending last week, we’ve already seen a hive of activity from teams focusing on their 2018 line up. I don’t think we’ve ever seen so much movement postseason!

JND Racing have announced that Lawrence Tombs from Time Crisis will be joining them for the 2018 season.

Lawrence Tombs is fairly new to the season, he debuted with a new team, Time Crisis back in June this year. The team went from strength to strength, winning October in Clubman and a very respectable 7th overall – battling with a number of supers.

The team was awarded 2017 Best new team, by far the most voted team.

RHPK caught up with Lawrence who gave the following statement…

It’s with a slightly heavy heart I’ve made the decision not to be running my own team next year. It’s simply to do with the time and commitment necessary to run as competitively as I want to. I’ve got a few things coming up over the next year that are a greater priority for me, retraining and possibly relocating, and the number of hours and weekends (and money) I’ve dedicated to the kart this year,… something had to give. But not racing next year was not an option for me.

Entering the RHPK championship has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. So once I’d made the decision to stop with my own team I had to think who I might ask to drive for next year. JND was the obvious choice. The guys are great, I’ve already built a good relationship with them as competitors. I’ve got so much respect for how Tomas turns out the kart at each round, immaculately prepared. And Jaunius is….. well Jaunius!

I really hope I can make a positive contribution to the team next year, and we can run competitively in the supers category. Thank you so much to Graeme and Steve for some of the great races we’ve had. And thank you to Jaunius and Tomas for giving me the opportunity to drive for JND. – Lawrence Tombs

Lawrence will fill the 3rd spot which was previously filled by Lee Kemp who moved to Polish Lambo this year. We caught up with Jaunis who was overjoyed by the news and looking forward to the new 2018 line up.

Couple of days after last round, as I already had a couple of drivers to talk to for the next season, Lawrence from Time Crisis approached me and had to pinch my self a few times to actually believe it’s real! After speaking to Tomas it was a no-brainer to take him on board. I’m very happy to announce – as Tomas said, combined forces. JND and Time Crisis.

We’ll be racing as JND Racing. But I’m sure Lawrence’s input in the team will make us stronger! I personally think we can challenge for some decent positions in a Super Pro Class next year. I had a chat with Graeme from time Crisis, just wanted to make sure there are no hard feelings.

As next season I just wanna get on with everyone and make this even more enjoyable, if that’s possible. Couldn’t be happier to have someone as professional, passionate and decent in our team as Lawrence! Watch the space! – Jaunius Zukas

We briefly spoke with Graham from Time Crisis who is hoping to continue racing with RHPK next year, potentially as a newly formed Time Crisis, watch this space!
