Magnetic filler plugs

The RHPK engine regulations reflect the MSA Honda GX160 technical regulations, which are very clear about standard engine components, and what can be replaced. Unfortunately, the filler plug is not one of them!

This does not mean that this is going to be set in stone forever, but with the MSA any regulation change must be given six-month’s notice, and I have already submitted to them what I believe are the most likely regulation changes for 2019.

I had one of our regular meetings last week with Roger from RPM, Richard from UFO, Jeff from Prokart Engineering and Mike Bontoft, of Bontoft engines. The subject of ferrous swarf collection came into that discussion, and possible avenues were explored.

For now, all other rule changes are currently on hold, but it is not out of the question that some sort of ferrous collection method might be possible in the future.
