Round 6 – Tyres

Following on from the announcement last round and Kelvin’s Article, Let’s talk tyres we can confirm on what RHPK Round 6 looks like.

Tyre Accusations

Post Round 5 there have been a number of accusations from teams in the paddock regarding Tyres. This has caused a considerable amount of discussion this month.

I cannot stress enough that the RHPK Rye House team takes cheating very seriously, if anyone is caught cheating they will be issued a lifetime ban, not only from RHPK but the Karting track.

Round 6

We will be pooling tyres from the Top three in Super from Round 5. Therefore at the start of Morning Practice, the teams listed below will need to bring brand new tyres to the front of Race control. These tyres will be inspected & marked by our scrutineer.

• Custom Rods (1)
• GKD Racing (2)

Once the tyres have been marked, each set will be randomly allocated to each team. If there is an issue during the race with one of the tyres (Such as a puncture) the team needs to make contact with Clerk of the Course or the scrutineer asap. This will be discussed in detail further on Saturday.

All new tyres allocated to teams need to remain inside the dummy grid (In line with each teams location within the pit) and not to be taken out at any point. They will be closely monitored by Rye house Staff and monitored on the surrounding security cameras.

Further checks during the day, up and down the grid will be performed in the background by our scrutineer.

We have explored a number of alternative solutions, but want to keep RHPK/pro-karting accessible for all of our teams. We strongly believe this will go a long way to ensuring that the top teams in Super are on a playing field. Again, we cannot stress enough that if anyone is found cheating the ban goes beyond the series to the full Ryehouse Kart Raceway venue.

This is our first step, we are reviewing how we proceed with the rest of the 2020 season and beyond.
